We act

Unique technologies

Historically known for its provocative tone and its sustainability commitment, SNAP has always stood out for its innovations combining audacity and technicality. Today we go further by also emphasizing the responsible aspect of each of our actions.

Air technology

Air technology

With Air technology the buffer is adapted to the height of the fall and the intensity of the impact: harder for high falls, and softer for low falls. This patented process is simple: we encapsulate each pad’s foam block in a perforated cover leaving the air going out according to the speed of the fall. The higher is the fall, the less the air can come out, so the pad becomes harder and safer.  This system is available on each high range pad: Wham, Grand Wham, Guts, Grand Guts, Dietrich Guts. High balls fanatics, this pad is made for you.

Bi-stretch

Bi-stretch

This is a method of weaving the elastane yarn around the warp and weft of the fabric, allowing it to stretch in all directions. The breakthrough we made is to use this innovative weaving method on an eco-responsible material base: organic cotton mixed or not with recycled polyester bringing lightness and softness without altering the robustness. That’s what allows us to make cuts adapted to very urban styles in clothes that can be used for climbing, pedalling, skating, yoga, or more generally to move your body without constraint.

TPU coating

TPU coating

A little chemistry lesson: TPU means “thermoplastic polyurethane”, it is a category of plastics created by a polyaddition reaction between a diisocyanate and one or more diols… Got it? Basically, TPU is a material that is at the same time elastic, anti-abrasive, oil and grease resistant, almost transparent, totally impermeable. We chose to combine it with a 600-denier recycled polyester fabric, so that we would have an ultra-resistant product for the bases of our crash pads and bags. But it’s still plastic. So why do we use it? Simply because in addition to its technical qualities, TPU can be recycled.

Crash pad Bounce

Crash pad Bounce

The Bounce crash pad is a patented SNAP invention. Characterized by its compact shape folded in four, it is ideal for urban climbers to move around easily and take up little space when stored at home. It can be used scratched to make one large pad, or divided in two for traverses, circuits or simply to make two separate pads.
